Beanbag Cinema at Moonee Valley Park a sell-out success!

Melbourne families enjoyed a night at the movies unlike any other on Saturday 26th March at Moonee Valley Racecourse with a special screening of family favourite, SING.

Around 500 people attended the sold-out event with adults and kids alike being entertained by costumed characters roaming and ready for happy snaps, as well as an arts and crafts station, face painting and balloon twisting, with games from Kelly Sports.

Guests got to experience the racecourse like never before, with VIP seats viewing the screen from the track itself, with a stunning twilight backdrop of the Melbourne CBD just 6km away.

Movie-goers snacked on food and beverages from the Food Collective by Dean & McPherson and Tulloch Diner, with each guest receiving free popcorn on arrival.

“We were so excited to see the community’s response to this stellar event. This will help us get to know locals and cultivate a program of memorable experiences at Moonee Valley Park in the future,” said Matt Malseed, Managing Director of property developer Hamton.

Stay tuned for the next community event at Moonee Valley Park. Attended the event? Check out all the snaps from the night here.

Moonee Valley Park presents Beanbag Cinema

After one Covid cancellation in 2020, the premier of Beanbag Cinema at Moonee Valley Park has arrived and it will have locals singing for joy!

Melbourne families are invited to experience a night at the movies unlike any other. The racecourse at Moonee Valley is undergoing a transformation of cinematic proportions for a special screening of family favourite, SING, on Saturday 26 March 2022.

The Valley of Tomorrow Update

2018 was a remarkable year for The Valley Community. Joint Venture Development partners, Moonee Valley Racing Club (MVRC), Hostplus and Hamton made headway on The Valley of Tomorrow precinct whilst champion mare Winx made sporting history winning her fourth consecutive Cox Plate.

The Valley of Tomorrow’s first Annual Update event was held on December 5, 2018, where progress on the year was discussed with local community members. Our first Annual Survey was a success with over 500 responses considered. Key findings were presented at the Annual Update event and are available to view on The Valley of Tomorrow website under the community section.

The design of Moonee Valley Park is progressing forward with the approval of the Stage A permit and the Thomas St permit application is currently being considered by Council. We will update The Valley of Tomorrow website with more information on the Thomas St permit application as it becomes available.
